What We Do:
- We set the standards and verify that a practitioner has met the rigorous requirements for initial registration and maintenance of registration for the Optometry Fellowship (FCCSO) and Optometry Specialist (CCSO(S)) titles.
- We offer a referral service for optometrists, other health care practitioners and the general public who require the assistance of an optometrist who specializes in a specific area of practice. Practitioners who have met the rigorous requirements for Fellowship or Specialty designations are listed on our website in their specific area of expertise.
- We encourage and enable life-long learning, vision care research and the aspiration to improve patient outcomes and enrich patient experiences.
- We offer peer reviewed and evidence-based Standards of Care and Health Policy Papers on vision-care and health-care issues that are based on the most recent optometric and medical research.
- We offer a Speaker’s Bureau of practitioners who have earned a designation in a specific or specialized area of practice.
